Counting the beat week 4
So this week for counting the beat we looked at Ukuleles and the Recorder.
For Ukulele we talked about what we knew about it, and what we thought about it.Then Mr Mitchell showed us some different types of ukulele like the Soprano, Concert ,Tenor and the Baritone. We looked at the ones that Mr Mitchell Brought for us to look at and the Concert one was My favourite because It was Electric. We also looked at the parts of the Ukulele like the head, body, neck, sound hole,Turning heads and more.
Then we got to look at the recorder. We looked at the different sizes of the Recorder and some of them where really big. Then we went outside and Mr Mitchell showed us some tunes that we played. Then we got to have 2 minutes to play whatever we wanted but it ended up like on 30 seconds because it was about to make us all Deaf because of the screeching sound of peoples Recorder not playing it properly. Although it was funny.
Bird mask plan
So for drama we are starting to make some bird masks. What we have done at the moment is done some research about what birds want to do and what type of masks we want to do. We had a look at some of the older students have made, and tried some on.
I have decided to make a Kiwi mask. The reason why I want to make a kiwi mask is because I found Some Really cool templates and I saw some really cool masks of kiwis that people made.
Here is my plan on my kiwi mask design ...

Counting the beat guitar
So Yesterday In counting the beat hurumanu 2 we were looking at Guitars. Mr Mitchell brought in some of his guitars and we looked and Learnt about them.
We learnt about all the different types of guitars and the difference and sounds they all make. Like The acoustic Guitar sounds good on its own and doesn't need any other equipment but with the electric Guitar it needs other equipment to actually here the guitar because if you dont you wont be able to hear the Electric guitar.
Then we got to have a go on the guitars and I must say that the acoustic guitar is way lighter than the Electric guitar which was quite heavy and The Acoustic guitar had more of a calm sound then the Electir guitar which had more of a metal music Eco sound .
Chicken Nugget invention
So for Hurumanu 3 We have been learning about inventors and Inventions we have been doing alote of researching and learning about some cool inventions and what it was like before those inventions. So here are some stuff that we have been doing so Far.

year 8 drama
At the moment This year for drama we have been learning on the topic of movement. we have been playing lots of drama games know as,
16 /16 circle where we stand in a circle and take 16 steps to the right 16 steps to the left then 8 steps to the right 8 steps to the left then 4 and 2 , for that game we have been working on timing so we don't dump into each other.
We also played 7 up where we all stand in a circle you say 1 2 3 4 5 6 then the 7th person says 7 up then puts there hand on the head pointing one way then what ever way that 7th person points is when you start again. The aim for the game is to act fast because it gets confusing,
We have also played Fiesta, And copy circle where you have to copy the person in The middle of the circle. And we also did this walk and jump thing where the teacher tells us walk, freeze, clap or jump and we do what you says.
We have also done this diamond copy thing where you stand in a diamond with 4 people and whoever the person in the front is the leader so they do movements and the rest of the people follow you then we all made up a routine then shared it with the class and it was very funny.
And that's most of the games we have done so far but do you know any other drama games?
