How to know things are fake online

For the last cupple of weeks in cybersmart we have learnt how to know if anything is fake or dangerous in the internet. Our teacher showed us a site called tree octopus we looked at it for a while then The teachers said it was all fake. Then watched a some videos then we had a little quiz that we had to try and guess if it was fake or real. One thing that we learnt was if it was a site it may not have http there or there might be spaces if it was fake. If you have a dogie email that asks you for personal information or if it say hello dear friend and it doesn't say your name its most likely fake.

So Now I know if you have to be very careful on the internet because there are loads of people that want peoples private information.   Have you ever had a dogie email before?

Harry potter the order of the phoenix Math

Today for math strand we got given a harry potter time table sheet. It had times on it next to the place and on the top was bus A bus B bus C and on the bottom was questions that we had to figure out with the time table I thought it was quiet easy because they were pretty easy questions.

How to crack a code

 Today for math we had to break a code. There were questions about the numbers and then we had to try and crack the code. But at the end we came up with 602 as our answer but then we looked again and there were many answers like 402. It was quiet hard because it was pretty confusing.

Math factor patterns

Last week my math group learnt about what factors where. If you don't know what factors are factors are what we can multiply to get that number. After we learnt about what factors where we got an factor sheet to fill out, There were different questions about factors like make a list of numbers from 1 to 20 and write all the factors for each of the numbers.. I found it quiet hard for me because some questions I didn't really get what it was trying to tell me.

Kennings

Today my class learnt about kennings. A kenning is a poem that gives hints on what it is telling you. for example my class did animals because it was a little easier, So if I picked the animal ¨cat¨ I would have to make 2-8 sentences on what my animal is but on every sentence you have to start it with a A and end it with a er but you cant say what the thing is you have to write about what it does then other people have to guess what it is. 

At first It was queit hard because I didn't have any ideas but then I got loads. So here is my kenning poem about a cat.

Letter Art with Zentangle patterns

Every Wednesday Miss S teaches our class art, We learn about the types of art, colour, texture,line,form,shape,Value and space. But last week we did texture I'm pretty sure. We did a sheet that had things like rough, smooth, brick and some more things and we had to fill out what we think it was then we had to draw it. After we got to pick a letter off the alphabet and we got to decorate it with textures I choose H for my name.

It was kinda easy because you could decorate how ever you wanted.

Math strand time table

Today for math strand we are learning about the time. Our teacher put up a screen of a time table and questions. The time table had places on it and times beside it. there were questions like how long does it take to get to Espom to waterloo and that and we would look at the times and see how long it takes to get there. 

I found it easy because i am quiet good at time and they were quiet easy to figure out.

Surfing trip

Last friday The year 5 and 6 went on a amazing surfing trip to the beach. First we sat down and the people esplanade how the surf board works the parts of the surf board, how to go on the surf board and how to stand up. We also learnt the types of the waves and how to know how big they are, We also learnt how to use the boogie board.

Then we got into lines of our home rooms and we got told if we were seals or dolphins and I was in seals, And that determined what we would be doing first. So then we got given wet suits to put on I got a nice blue one. Then my class went first to go out into the beach. The seals witch I was in went surfing fist and the dolphins went boogie boarding.

Before going out surfing the people went over how to stand up on the surf board and were to but your feet and other important things you need to know about surfing, Then we got to go out in the water and surf. When I went in the water and surfed I didn't really stand up because I hadn't done surfing before but after I got the hang of it and it was really fun!. The one thing that I struggled with about surfing is holding it, its really hard because it is so big! We got around bout half an hour to surf then we went back to the base then it was another classes turn whlie my class ate.

Then we went to the beach and did a sand castle competition witch was so fun Me and my friends made a light house with the sea and people swimming and a big boat. Then my class went back to the water and did the thing we didn't do so I did boogie boarding ,and since i had done it allot It was very fun and on the last wave I was all the way in sea then I went rite up to the stairs.

Yellow zone

Today in inquiry we are learning about zones of regulation. For zones of regulation we learnt about how others feel, think and and what they could say when We are in certain zone. So today we had to fill in this form on what happens in the yellow zone so here it is.

Guess the food

So This week my two friends come over to do the guess the food. One of us are blind folded and the other two get 5 food and give it to the person blind folded and the person blind folded had to try and guess what they were eating. We did have some rules the first rule was the thing we give to the blind folded person the food has to be edible. We had a good round a medium round and then me and my best friend Harmony wanted to do the hard round because we wanted no give my friend Keah a onion.  We finally convinced  Keah to do the hard round by saying it was good, but we couldn't get Keah to eat the onion but at the end me and Harmony at the onion and it was disgusting because it was raw!

But at the end of it it was very fun!

Spring learning journey 10 types of food I haven't tried

Today for the spring learning journey I did activity one. Activity one was name 10 healthy foods you haven't tried before and  see if you can make them start with different letters. I went on line and searched up some unique healthy things and then but some healthy things on the list that I was pretty sure I hadn't tried before. It was kinda hard because you never know if you have tried it when you where younger or not but it was kinda easy because there was loads of weird unique things that I know I wouldn't of have tried, So here it is.

Spring learning Journey

Last week we got to make something for the spring learning journey since they did a winter learning journey this season Well Evan know theirs only one day of winter it is still practically winter. So our class planed what kind of things we could do.

Me Ayla and Nirvana decided to do how to make chalkboard cookies because we though it would be really fun to do and If we were doing it we would defiantly do it. But we only had a limited time so its not the best. But we might not get picked to put our slide on though. But here is our side show.

Fossil Facts

So In Inquiry I posted a post about the beans growing but now we are learning about fossils. At my house I learnt how Mary Ann Mantell was the first one to find a dinosaur fossil. In Inquiry we had to make a google drawing of fossil facts. We also looked at some real fossils in real life we looked at Shark gaws and some sea shells and that kind of things.

Sumo paint

For cybersmart we tried out some new things to use then Google slides. We tried out Powtoon, Bitable, Canva and  sumopaint, I decided to show you how to use sumo paint, when you get on the app thing there should be a plan white sheet and things on the side, You can play around with all the things to decorate your picture, But there is somethings that have pro so If you don't pay for pro you cant use it.

I thought it was really fun to try out all of the things and use your amalgamation. I hope now you could maybe try out sumo paint and play with it and that. This is one picture I made.

Bean experiment

So For the next 2 weeks I am in Miss W Inquiry. In Miss W Inquiry we are learning about the 4 Spheres the biosphere, geosphere, Hydrosphere and the Atmosphere. So Today we planted a bean in two container and I think we are going to get in two groups and see who has the biggest plant.

Mission to Mars

We were challenged to research and plan a Mission to Mars. We watched Nasa videos and we read lots of articles about space travel and Mars. We learnt what humans would need to survive on Mars. And about the Oxygen how we would build or make our house how we would get food water,Protection from radiation, heat warmth and entertainment.

The first man on the moon

For the last couple of weeks our theme in our big class room was space so in my literacy class we had to write a story about Neil Armstrong landing on the moon. I decided to write my story on about how he got there and how he felt. I had loads of fun writing this story and I Evan learnt some new things about the moon and Neil Armstrong.

Phonics flip book

In Phonics we made some flip books about Parts of speech like Noun, Verb, Adjective, Pronoun, Adverb. We got this peace of paper that had  Noun, Verb, Adjective, Pronoun, Adverb on it. Then We had to colour in the paper. Then we had to get a plan peace of paper and stick it on the back and then cut it out.

I thought it was quiet fun to colour in and use your imagination.

Trying to figure out what 600 ÷ 8 is

 This week we had to start doing math starter of the day we go to pick questions that were ÷ and work them out. This week my math teacher Miss Goslin gave us some hard questions for the first day of the term but I gave my self a challenge and did the hardest one 600 ÷ 8 it might be easy for you but this was the hardest one. it was defiantly a challenge for me I don't know if I went with a good strategy but here is my slide show. Math questions

Today for math We had to do this sheet that had 9 questions about math and we had to answer them True or False. There was one question that the class didn't get we got the answer but we didn't get the question if it was true or false. What I thought was challenging was some of the questions didn't make scene to me. What I liked about it was that it made by brain think about if it was true or false. So here is what I did

The day I risked my life for my love writing

This week for writing we watched a video of paper scissors rock. After we watched to rock paper scissors video we had to write a story on one of the characters (paper scissors or rock) and write what they were felling and what happens and what they say because the paper scissors rock video didn't talk in the video. The character I piked was rock I piked rock because he risked his life for paper. I thought It was very fun to make the story more interesting and use my imagination on what they were felling and saying. So here is my story hope you like it!

Math Get the highest and lowest number

   Today for math My group called tapaono did our brain teaser. We had these numbers 1-2-3-4-5-6  And with + - x and divided by we had to make the lowest and the highest numbers with  1-2-3-4-5-6 we could not use 3 or over numbers and we could not only use one number. We had to figure out the highest and the lowest numbers (1-2-3-4-5-6) of each + - x and divided by. Here is my working out.

Grid directions

Today for math in our home classes we are learning directions. For the last couple of weeks we had to make directions on a grid. We had to make directions from the start to the end with forward, back, right, left, 90%, 180%, 270%,360,% north, east, south and west. Then we got a another task but harder we still had a grid but we had to start out side the grid and end outside the grid. I worked with my friend Ayla. We thought it was way easier to work in buddies because we get the work done faster.

 

Zios and Zepts brain teaser

  Today for math we had to figure out our brainteaser for the week. It was about Zois and Zepts on a planet. The brain teaser said that the Zepts have 7 legs and the Zois have 3. Then the Zois and Zepts attacked a person and a man saw 52 legs how many Zois and Zepts were there? So here is how I worked it out and my answer. How many Zois and Zepts do you think were there?

Math Sudoku

Today for math this morning our groups did Sudokus. We had to do One shapes one and two number ones. I did the shapes one first I thought it was very easy. Then I did the two number ones and I thought that the two number Sudokus where easy then I helped other people.

Anything buddy story

 For literacy in writing We all had to get into buddys and make a story you wanted. I picked Ayla as my buddy. Me and Ayla had no ideas so we went on pobble365. Pobble365 is a website that has loads of cool pictures that you can write story's about the picture and you can do anything you want. Me and Ayla piked some pictures we liked then we cam down to 3 pictures. Me and Ayla could not pick so we desisted to do all three pictures. I thought It was very fun to make any story you wanted with a bubby. Heres our story. buddy. Me and Ayla had no ideas so we went on

Balancing PE on play ground

Today For PE In my class room we practice balancing for winter sport. We went on our senior play ground and Mrs Malignity made up a optical for us we had to go on a log bridge with No hands and then we had to go on two tight rops with no hands then went on theses black tubes but he could use our hand and lastly there was A tight rop bridge.

 The first time I tried I got pasted the log bridge and I fell on the two tightrope The second time I Was the first one to go past the black tube thing but I fell on the tightrope bridge. I thought Its was pretty challenging but Very fun.

Making squares out of sticks problem solving

Today for math this morning we did some problem solving with Miss Goslin. She told us that we have to make squares out of sticks. She put a photo on the tv and we had to recreate the pattern with the sticks we also count how much sticks we used .

going on a bear hunt directions

In math we are learning about directions. We listened to the story Were going on a bear hunt. We picked the obstacles in the story. We then drew a map of the story. We had to carefully think about were to put the obstacles on the paper.

Then we had to write directions from the house to the cave. We had to use North East South And West and also center meters and meters. I thought I was very fun.

Coco Cola Pool math

Today we watched a 24 second video of a dude putting coco cola in a pool. The pool was full of coco cola.  The tittle was how much coco cola bottles do you think we put in. I think he put 567 I thought There would be loads of bottles in there because the bottles are very small compared to the pool filled with coco cola How much bottles do you think he put in?

Little Red riding hood Math coordinator

Today for math strand in our home room we did a Little red riding hood coordinator sheet. We had to do 2 things. First find the picture  and see the number and letter and put it onto the sheet. Second We had to draw a picture the map or paper told us were to draw it.

Math counters

For math This week we watched a video of a person putting counters in different places. We had to figure out if he was using the same counters every time. Then we could make our own but we could use as many counters as we won't.

     

The chamber of the BFF necklaces story Plan

 In literacy one of our can do's is Write a book in book creator so me and My friend Harmony wanted to write a book together call It The chamber of the BFF necklace so I'm doing the first book and Harmony is doing the second book called The ledgend of the BFF necklaces so we started the start then we relisted we need a plan so this is our plan of what we are going to write next. for me this Is VERY fun because we can use our imagination.

Math Marble brain teaser

So today In math for our brain teaser we had to watch a video of a man putting marbles in a cup he told us how many he put in at a time we had to try and work out how many marbles he put in the cup all to together first he put 10 marbles then 20 marbles then 30 marbles then lastly 40 marbles all that counted 100.I thought it was easy because I new 10 marbles +20 marbles = 30 then I new 30 marbles + 30 marbles = 60 marbles the 60 marbles + 40 marbles = 100

How to make a cool fortune teller

For literacy In writing we are doing instructions and following them so we watched a video on how to make a fortune teller and then we had to make instructions on how to make a  fortune teller in writing. I thought it was kinda hard to only do it in writing not showing people but it was VERY VERY FUN.
