Mata I pusi

So last week for my reading group book was Mata I pusi. We had to read it then write the 10 most interesting words in Mata I pusi and 10 key points.

Then share with our group and then Find out the 10 most interesting words and 10 key points as a group so here it is.

10 key points

  1. “Your mother always has to have the last word,”

  2. Mata i pusi – the eyes of a cat. It was better than mata i povi – cow eyes –

but not by much.

  1.  My eyes adjusted to the darkness. I looked into the mirror. My green, fearless mata i pusi eyes looked back at me from

a cat’s face.

  1. “I should be startled,” I thought, as I twitched my tail. Instead

I stroked my fur and felt a deep sense of satisfaction. It was silky

and luxuriant – and black.

  1.  “Can we take down the curtain over the mirror? Just the one in my room ... just for today.” the rest came tumbling out of my mouth. Th samoan kids already tease me for being palagi. I don't want the Palagi kids to tease me for being samoan.

  2. Green eyes are beautiful like the sea,” Mum said at breakfast. She was

obviously still thinking about last night’s discussion and was trying to

make me feel better.

  1. Every Samoan prairs Before they eat.

  2. I pulled the gauzy curtain across the mirror so I wouldn’t

have to look at my face, then scrunched my nose. No one else had curtains

over their mirrors. It was embarrassing.

  1.  After Nana left, I told her about the teasing.

“I don’t get it,” she said. “Why are cat eyes a bad thing?”

“It’s because they’re green. They tease me that I look Pālagi.”

10.

That afternoon, Alison and I sat on my bed, weaving friendship bracelets.

There was no trace of the curtain,

10 intersting words

1. The long writing

Vai was sitting down peacefully at the beach watching the horizon

Then Heard A massive

grumble from her stomach Begging for food  So she decided to get

up and get

Some coconut from the

golden coconut tree when all of a sudden she slipped and fell through

the ground

zooming down a wooden

slide going down into the ground to a massive cave, Then slammed

into the ground

“OW”  Vai Hesitated

“Where am I?” she said to herself “How do i get out? There must have

been someone

here before me

since there was a slide”. Vai decided to walk around the cave to try to

find an exit.

Then all of a sudden she heard a noise from behind a massive rock.

Vai quietly hid

behind a rock to try and

see what it was. Just after the creature crawls out of behind the rock.

“WOAH “

Vai says in her head.

Right in front of her was A MASSIVE shiny Tiger with gold all over it,

but what Caught

Vai's eye was the

Necklace, The forgotten necklace that everyone was looking for but

before Vai could do

anything the tiger

started Walking towards Vai and started to stared right into her eyes.

“Why are you here?

” the creature

says. Vai takes a step back “HOW CAN YOU TALK” vai said with a

scared shaky voice,

“the creature

glances back at her “well I feel into this cave and I don't know how to

get out” vai says back.

“Well I can help you get out if you want” Says the Creature,

Vai Hesitated for a second

but thought that

the creature was the only help i'm going to get. “Ok thanks that

would be great. “I think

I know an Exit about 3 hours

into the cave” the creature says  ”HOW BIG IS THIS CAVE” Vai says back but the

creature had already started

walking.

Vai catches up to the creature “Well you walk fast” Vai says

But the creature doesn't

respond “well do you have a name” vai says “tamatoa” the

creature says. Vai and Tanatoa

start having a chat But before they knew it they were at an exit.

“Well thank you for showing

me an exist out here” Vai says”No problem” Tamatoa says Back.

Then Tamatoa takes

off the Special Necklace And gives it To Vai. “Here have it” Tamatoa says

“ Thank you” Vai says back . Then started climbing out of the cave.

From That day Vai Had become the Captain Of the

land for finding the lost necklace, but Vai never forgot tamatoa.

2. The sort one

Vai had just came back from a nice walk at the beach but all of a sudden Vai

fell through the ground

into a

massive cave. Vai Hesitated but decided to get up and try to find an exit

out of there

. But all of a

sudden

she heard a Noise from Behind a rock So she decided to hide.

Then just after the creature

crawled from

out behind of the rock it looked like a MASSIVE Tiger but it had

gold all over him. But what

caught Vai’s

Eye was The green necklace that was Around his neck.

“Is that The lost necklace?” Vai says

to herself

but before Vai could think anything else the tiger Walked up to Vai.

“what are you doing here?”

the creature

says in a dark voice.

“Uhm Well I was walking back from the beach then

I fell into a hole into this cave

and Im looking for

an exit” Vai says back. “Well I guess im not doing

anything I can help u find an exit

I think theres one close”

The creature says.

“Oh that would be great” Vai says back.

So the Creature and Vai Started walking to the Exit while

talking about them and there

life but before they

knew they where

already at the exit “well thank you for Helping me”

Vai says :no problem i havent talked to a human in ages

I kinda miss it” the creature

says Then Took of his

necklace of his neck and gave it To Vai “for you” the creature

says. “Thank you” Vai says then Started

climbing up the exit.

From that day on Vai Became the leader of the Island for finding

the Lost necklace. But Vai

never forgot the

creature that helped

her have a good life.
