So for my last book, Reading , The bullet I made a Kahoot.  So here it is

  The film's plot follows the story of Paikea Apirana (the Whale Rider, Who rode on top of a whale. The village leader should be the first-born son. Pai is originally born a twin, but her twin brother and her mother died during birth. Pai is female and so technically cannot inherit the leadership.         

After the death of his wife and despite overwhelming pressure from Koro, Pai's father refuses to assume traditional leadership or finish the waka (canoe) that he had started building for the baby son; instead, he moves to Germany to pursue a career as an artist. At one point, Paikea decides to live with her father because her grandfather says he doesn't want her. However, as they are driving away, she finds that she cannot bear to leave the sea as the whale seems to be calling her back. Pai tells her father to return her home.

 

Witi Ihimaera ,who wrote whale rider , wrote around 50 books himself.

Chocolate chip cookies

So today in cooking class we made chocolate chip cookies. First we got into to buddy's that where at our table I budded up with Hollie .S. Then we grabbed all our ingredient and started baking. This is the recipe                                                   we used if you would like to use it.

After we put the cookies in the oven we waited 10-15 minutes to cook until there golden brown.

After that we took them out and let them cool for 5 minutes.

Then we tasted them.  They tasted Delicious the texture felt crumby on the outside but soft on the inside and with the chocolate chips it made it all come together.  I would recommend using this recipe if you do tell me how they went. I think me and my buddy did pretty well.

Feelings of benny

For hurumanu 2 speaking our truth we where talking about hot seating. Hot seating is answering questions in the characters point of view.

Matariki paper lantern

So today me and my friend Hannah made some Matariki paper lanterns. So first what we did was go onto google and looked and some paper lanterns other people made. Then we went to you tube and watched a video on how to make it.

Then we got all the materials and started making out lanterns here is how they look!

On Tuesday 30th June next week at lunch time, The Yr 7-9 from MT will be having a Wānanga lunch for a Matariki celebration. Please bring a plate of food to share with everyone in the class.

After period 4 came to M1 to share your food with the whole Wānanga class. 

Some people have allergies such as tomatoes and nuts. So make sure to be careful about what you eat, If you have ANY allergies. But other than that bring whatever you want to share with the class.

So for matariki our class is going to have a shared lunch. Our teacher told some of the class to orgines it. So me and my group skye,hannah brianna and Jrae got told to organise the news letter to send out to everyone so here it is

Philippines independence day 

Maganadang umaga, This week we are learning about the Philippines independence day.  

  

Every year the Philippines Celebrate Philippines independence day on the 12 of June.  Araw ng Kalayaan, Day of freedom. The Philippine celebrate independence day as the holiday of freedom, They celebrate commemorating the declaration of Philippine independence from Spain in 1898.

 But independence day  cant be without food. Here are some foods that the Philippines normally eat on independence day.
