date scones

So for cooking in lock down i decided to make date scones .The first thing i did was find a good recipe to use
I changed some things about it to make it better but here is the recipe i used.

_________________________________________________________

3 cups plain flour
5 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
3 dessert spoons sugar
1 cup plant based milk mixed with slightly under 1/3 cup lightly flavoured oil
(don’t quite allow the mix of milk and oil to come up to the one-cup line)
1 cup chopped dates

Sift dry ingredients then whisk together to mix.

Add chopped dates (use a pair of kitchen scissors to cut them up. It is much faster this way).
Mix the dates in, again using the whisk (the whisking adds lightness to the scones).

Stir first then add the milk and oil mixture (Vitasoy is creamy enough to use half and half with water).

Mix until the ingredients are just combined—over mixing them will make the scones tough.
After a little bit of stirring, pick up the slightly sticky dough (add a little more flour if it is too sticky)
and gently turn it in on itself a few times to finish the combining and tidy up all the bits.

Place dough on a floured baking tray and gently pat down until it is about 1.5 centimetres thick.
Cut into scones and bake in a hot oven (approx 200ºC) for around 12 minutes (or until they are turning a
 light golden brown).

Lay a clean tea towel on a cooling rack, on which you place your scones to cool, then fold tea
 towel over to cover

It didn't take to long to make and i thought it was pretty easy. Here is the final product

To make it have some extra flavor I put some jam and butter on it which i thought made it better. The texture was
Quite light and soft which was nice mixing with the taste of the dough and dates in it. Have you ever made
scones before?

Water colour flowers

So for art we have been making flowers with water colours. We learnt all about water colour and how to layer and all it. We did a quizlet of the types of water colours like layering , glazing dilution and more and learnt what they meant and how to do them.

We started off just draft drawing our flowers looking at different types, we looked at some other peoples flower drawings to give us some ideas . Then we started painting and getting the hang of water colouring and layering. After we had gotten the hang of it we started to create our final flower.

I have to to say though before this i didn't really know how to layer or use water colour but now i think i do.

I decided to make my flower a tulip. For my tulip i used brown for the pot green, and used some different shades of red for my flower. So here is some of my designs that I made hope you enjoy.

Coding

So this term we have been doing and learning about code on code.org. We have been going through the levels learning all about code. What I have learnt so far is about sprites and I have already learnt alot because I never knew anything about code before. So Here are some animations of code that I made.
